Jackson Hole Summer Activities- Early Summer Activities

Jackson Hole Summer Activities

Early summer has a unique set of Jackson Hole Summer Activities. There are a few that are perfect for the early summer temperatures and quieter atmospheres of the town of Jackson and the surrounding national parks.  Here are a few great options for experiencing the wildness of Jackson Hole while the summer is young.

Horseback riding is a great way to get out and see the sights in the local cowboy fashion.  Spring Creek Ranch is running it’s full summer schedule of trail rides for the season.  They offer rides for one or two hours for those that just want a taste of cowboy transportation.  These rides are perfect for someone who wants to get out and take in the sights during a short ride.  If you would like to enjoy a longer ride, half or full day rides are offered, as well.  City-slickers fear not, there is no riding experience needed.

If you want to get out on the Snake River, but aren’t ready to get doused on a whitewater rafting excursion, a scenic float is a great choice.  On these leisurely adventures you will float down the Snake River on a large raft with your guide.  They will keep an eye out for any wildlife that may be along the river banks.  These trips are relaxing, and you will not get wet.  There are great scenic views regardless of what stretch of the river you float.

Another western experience not to be missed is the Chuckwagon dinner with Bar T-5.  You can enjoy a great western dutch oven dinner, along with some fantastic country western music.  All of this after your horse-drawn covered wagon ride up Cache Creek.

A great activity if it is a beautiful day, or even if it’s not, is a guided wildlife safari.  EcoTour Adventures will set you up with an incredibly knowledgeable guide.  In addition, their vehicles are perfectly equipped for touring the park in search of animals to view and photograph.  You can opt for a half or full day trip in Grand Teton, or a full day in Yellowstone.  Having a guide to locate wildlife for you, as well as do the driving makes the experience of travelling through the national parks even that much better.
