Winter in Jackson Wine- Inn on the Creek Recipes

It’s the spiciest time of the year! You thought pumpkin lattes were the summit of seasonal spice sensation? Well, get ready for mulled wine season at the Inn on the Creek! Winter in Jackson Hole is famous for frigid temperatures, big mountains, and the adventurous souls who love to get out and explore no matter the weather. But it’s also a place where folks like to cozy up by the fire to relax and warm up with a hot, tasty beverage like our ‘Winter in Jackson Wine.’

1 bottle red wine (dry is nice because you will be sweetening it up with the remaining ingredients)

2 c. apple cider

1/3 pint of Wyoming Whiskey or brandy (add more or less to taste)

I like to add maybe ½ c. water to keep it from being syrupy, but do this to taste. You might prefer it stronger.

1 orange sliced

4 cinnamon sticks

1 T. whole cardamom pods

1 t. whole cloves

Note: I use a large tea ball to hold all the various spices. You can just let them float free, tie them up in a cheese cloth, or try these great mulling spice tea bags , which have everything you need already inside. Just throw in 4 or 5 bags with the liquid and forget the other ingredients.

Put this delicious concoction in the crock pot and cook until it smells too good to ignore (at least two hours). Then serve warm in mugs. Share with friends and enjoy one of the tastes of Winter in Jackson Hole.

You should get in contact with my Aunt & Uncle who own a Bed & Breakfast in Marshall ,Texas. Yes Ginger & Cecil are kin to them as well.
