While on a winter vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a day of skiing at Grand Targhee Resort is a must. Skiing the Ghee, as the locals call it, will be one of your favorite Jackson Hole Winter Activities of your trip. Grand Targhee Resort is located about an hour’s drive from Jackson Hole over beautiful Teton Pass.

Targhee Express-

The very best way to make the journey to ski Grand Targhee Resort is by taking the Targhee Express. The Targhee Express is a shuttle service operated by Alltrans that offers a combination shuttle and lift ticket for only $99 per adult! This price cannot be beat. The shuttle picks up 2 blocks from Inn on the Creek at 7:30am, drops you off at the base of the lifts at 9am where the bus driver will conveniently hand you lift tickets as you exit the bus. Nothings better than sitting back, enjoying a cup of coffee, the paper and the mountain scenery while a trained expert does the driving. After a full day of skiing reload the bus at 4:15pm and arrive back in Jackson at 5:30pm just in time for dinner. A group of us from the Inn had the chance to go on this excursion last winter and had such a terrific time- two thumbs way up!

Mountain Stats-

Read on to find out what Grand Targhee Resort has to offer skiers. Grand Targhee has 5 lifts to explore their 2602 skiable acres with something for everyone. This mountain has wide open bowls that are an intermediate skiers dream! Ride the Dreamcatcher and Blackfoot lift to some of the best blue runs in the area. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, head over to the Sacajawea Ski Lift for expert runs with great steeps. Targhee is known for powder, with over 500″ of average annual snow fall, that will make any powder hound happy! The base elevation is 7851′ which is over a 1000′ feet higher than Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This higher base elevation equals lower temperatures and more snow early season. So when your skiing your rocks skis at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you might just be skiing early-season powder at Grand Targhee Resort.
