A few of our favorite hikes that you can enjoy between a 4 to 6 hour day are included in the Grand Teton National Park. These are fabulous hikes to throw a sack lunch in your backpack and don’t forget your wild flower guide book!

Leigh Lake Trailhead

This hike begins at the base of the Tetons at String Lake. String Lake is the warmest mountain lake so be sure to bring your swimming trunks for a dip after your hike. It is a fairly flat and easy hike at  5.4 miles round trip.

Suprisingly, Leigh Lake has some amazing beaches along the trail. Great places for a picnic and to take a walk in the sand. If you continue along the Leigh Lake Trail, you can access Bear Paw lake and Trapper Lakes.

Phelps Lake and the Laurance Rockefeller Preserve Center

One of the most educational hikes and a chance to take a peak in the past of the Rockefeller’s family life. As you begin this hike be sure to stop at the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve Center for an opportunity to learn more about Mr. Rockefeller’s vision for the Preserve and his legacy of conservation stewardship. The center offers a series of unique sensory exhibits that highlight the visual, auditory and tactile qualities of the Preserve’s plants and wildlife. Also, take advantage of the Center’s library there are many books detailing how the Rockefeller’s camp was relocated and pictures of the family enjoying the most beautiful vacation spots around where time stood still.Views above Phelps Lake on the Death Canyon Trailhead
