Jackson Hole Activities- Sipping on Local Suds

Jackson Hole Activites-Brewery-Tour

With each turn of the season, there are new Jackson Hole Activities to partake in. But there are only a few activities that one can do year round, and sipping on local suds is one of them. The trend of craft brewing is alive and well in Jackson. Having a pint of locally brewed beer while chatting with locals is a great way to see another side of the Jackson area. Keep reading to get a glimpse of the breweries in the area. They are listed in order of proximity to the Inn on the Creek, cause when you need a beer, you need a beer.

Snake River Brewery is located just 4 short blocks from the Inn, where their motto is ‘put our river through your liver’. It is Jackson’s oldest brewery, and it has been twice named Small Brewery of the World by the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). With eight rotating beers on tap and daily brewery tours during high season, Snake River Brewery is a great place to start sampling the local suds. They also feature a full restaurant with wood-fired pizzas, pastas and great happy hour wings. Try their most popular suds- Snake River Lager or Pako’s IPA or branch out with one of the oak barreled-aged beers, like La Serpent Sour Ale.

Only a 10 minute walk from the Inn is the next spot serving up local suds, Thai Me Up Restaurant and Brewery. This Thai restaurant added a brewery to its repertoire only a few short years ago, but they have already received a Gold and Silver medal at the GABF. Best known for their Melvin Indian Pale Ale, this nano-brewery also brews small batches of adventurous beers, such as their Cherry Freak Fruit Beer. So head over to Thai Me Up to sample some of their craft beers with a delicious Thai dish all while watching Kung Fu Movies.

After exploring Teton Village stop in at the Q Roadhouse Restaurant and Brewery and be rewarded with great brews from Jackson’s newest brewery. Located 20 minutes from the Inn, the Q Roadhouse is open from 5pm-10pm nightly for you to sample their various beers, catch local music and enjoy a great dinner. This restaurant entered the brewing game in 2012, and has already received the Best Brewery Award at Old West Brewfest.

Take a scenic drive over Teton Pass to Victor, ID to get to the next local brewery on the tour, Grand Teton Brewery. Brewing since 1988, Grand Teton Brewery distributes throughout the west, and is featured in many restaurant and bars in the area. The brewery has tours and tastings daily. Try one of their well crafted signature brews- Teton Amber Ale, Bitch Creek ESB Ale and Howling Wolf Weisse Bier.

And the sipping doesn’t stop there- the area also offers a local winery and distillery. Jackson Hole Winery sources their grapes from Sonoma and Napa. They produce and cellar their wine right here in Jackson. Grand Teton Distillery located in Teton Valley, ID distills high quality vodka. They start with premium Idaho potatoes and pristine mountain water and perform every step of the process in their local facility.

So to round out your time in the area, include a trip to one or all of these fine establishments to your list of Jackson Hole Activities.
