Farm to Table at your Jackson Hole Bed and Breakfast

Inn on the Creek Breakfast

Inn on the Creek Breakfast

What is a Jackson Hole Bed and Breakfast without a delicious, scrumptious breakfast each morning? At Inn on the Creek, we are committed to serving our guests the best possible ingredients prepared with care, so that we offer the very best breakfast. This commitment takes our breakfast from good to amazing and from just okay to unforgettable! We strive to serve organic, all natural and seasonal products that are sourced locally whenever possible. The short growing season of the Jackson Hole area definitely makes this challenging! We are thrilled that each summer the Inn’s small herb and veggie garden has provided a great harvest of kale, garlic, tomatoes, basil, dill, chives, rosemary, sage and other herbs. (Click here for more details on our garden) We quickly out grew our little plot of garden, so Cosmic Apple Gardens to the rescue!

From Cosmic Apple Gardens Website

The Inn has purchased a share from Cosmic Apple Gardens this summer, which will provide fresh produce for our breakfast. Cosmic Apple Gardens is located 30 miles west of Jackson in Victor, Idaho. Their ideal location gives them a necessary advantage over growing in Jackson. First their rich soil, called the Driggs Silt Loam, offer fertile ground to grown on unlike the mostly rocky soil that is prevalent in the rest of the area. Secondly, the Idaho side of the divide does not tend to get as cold as the Wyoming side. In addition to that, the gardens are located in a micro-climate that benefits from the chilling mountain air pushing the warm air of the day into the valley.

The gardens’ produce is certified USDA Organic and Demeter Certified Biodynamic. The Inn can expect shares to start towards the end of May with mostly leafy greens. In no time, though, shares will include a variety of herbs, squash, zucchini, sugar snap peas and much, much more. Towards the end of the harvest, we will start receiving potatoes, carrots and winter squashes. These items store well, so we hope to be using them into winter.

Fresh, locally grown produce for our breakfast dishes.

We are thrilled to add these veggies to our breakfast repertoire and support local agriculture! This is just another reason Inn on the Creek is the Jackson Hole Bed and Breakfast to stay at this summer. Check out our summer rates and availability here. Please, follow us on Facebook for our weekly share updates and follow our veggie journey.
