Jackson Hole Lodging- A Day in the Life of the New Gal

Inn on the Creek, a Jackson Hole Lodging property, is thrilled to welcome a new member to the team! Carla Gibbs is joining us for the summer to help in the kitchen, serve breakfast, host social hour and much more! Carla moved to Jackson sight unseen and has had quite the experience so far! Enjoy her story in her own words below:

On June 1st, I landed in Jackson for the first time. I had heard from several people about the beauty of the town, valley, mountains, and much more. But it wasn’t until I experienced this place with my own senses that I realized the magic of it. Sunrise at Schwabacher’s Landing, Yellowstone bison herds, the incredible views from all over the area—there is a unique quality infused in all of it. Jackson Hole is special, and I feel so grateful to be here, calling it home for about five months.

I came here from living in San Francisco with my best friend. After I ran out of money, she suggested that I work for her parents at their inn. I said yes, and now work the weekend shifts at Inn on the Creek. Being a part of the team here has been awesome. I get to prepare delicious breakfasts and enjoy socializing in the evenings with guests. I have stepped into a trade that is thousands of years old—inn-keeping, housing travelers along their journey. When I reflect upon this, it amazes me! I get to meet people from all over the world who share my interest of traveling.

I’ve found myself in engaging conversations with strangers now turned into friends. Learning about their lives and adventures has inspired me to continue my journey of self-discovery through travel. I’m very thankful for the individuals I encounter and what they bring out in me. Inn on the Creek is a special place and a gift to be a part of it.
